I have received several inquiries as to why certain teams were placed in brackets they felt were incorrect based on age differences between teams in that bracket. Unlike the “bracket by age” approach used by SSUSA, the NCSSA formats competition based on skill levels rather than age. This provides competition that allows more teams a better opportunity to win tournaments.
2022 Hall of Fame Tournament brackets were determined using the August edition of the NCSSA Rankings, which is available on the NCSSA website. The Ranking Committee every month reviews all teams that have played in an NCSSA event and adjusts any team‘s group placement as necessary. Tournament directors use this information to properly bracket the teams that have entered their tournaments.
