Regarding Tournaments in Pleasanton

In response to a question regarding resumption of NCSSA tournaments in Pleasanton, Gary Tryhorn replied that:

Right after Bob Sebring passed away, both the President of NCSSA, Bill Picht, and I tried to find someone to take Bob’s place as Tournament Director with his dates and Pleasanton as the venue. We were unable to find anyone that would assume that role. The main reason was the inability of the Pleasanton field directors to relax the rule they set in place that said all Seniors had to be off the fields by 3 pm on Sunday. Bob dealt with that problem by changing the NCSSA rules to quicken the games. Most of the tournament directors we talked to did not want to deal with the inflexibility of the Pleasanton field staff. It’s a shame that we do not get to attend tournaments at the Pleasanton field as it was a very popular venue for Senior Softball. We are still looking for someone to take over the Pleasanton tournaments, but open dates go fast.
