Passing of George E. Skillicorn

Age 80, died in his sleep January 14th at TreVista Senior Living, Antioch, CA after struggling the last few years with dementia.

George was born August 8, 1941 in Sacramento, California – he was raised by his mother Estelle May Skillicorn and father Arthur Edwin “Eddie” Skillicorn. George and his beloved sister Gay A. Skillicorn grew up in Sacramento, CA where George excelled in track graduating C.K. McClatchy Senior High School June 1959. George worked as an Engineer for Western Pacific (Union Pacific) Railroad for 40 years and during this time lived in Winnemucca and Reno, NV until recently moving back to California with his wife of 41 years Louise Skillicorn.

George is survived by his loving wife, his son David, 3 children through marriage Janice, Brent, Vicki and several grandchildren.

George had a passion for classic cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He spent time tinkering, most memorable was his 1972 T-top Corvette that he showed and raced at “Hot August Nights” or you could find him at one of his other passions – bowling or playing softball where he made some good friends. He also loved sporting events, fishing, and good Mexican food. George was a very kind and generous man and will be missed.
