The Passing of Bob Moore

Bob Moore, 80, a longtime player and tournament team manager, died on March 2 following a head injury. Bobby has been a member of Vintage Softball Club and Redwood City Señors Club since 1991. Bob was an excellent athlete. As a young man, he was named South Bay High School Athlete of the Year because of his prowess in three sports. He continued to love and play softball until the Covid shutdown. He is a member of Northern California Senior Softball Association Hall of Fame and many have played with his teams. In recent years, he was the manager of the State Roofing teams. He was known as a competitive, fair, and firm manager, not afraid to discipline players who did not commit to the team, but willing to lovingly accept those whose skills were declining. He lived most of his life in the San Jose area and is survived by his wife, Sandy, four children, and many grandchildren. Due to current restrictions, there is no service planned at this time.
